Combat NeilPryde 2011 blue
All - round performance and durability
This sail is the most versatile in the NeilPryde wave sail range and would suit the rider who is
looking for extreme durability. The Combat will allow the rider to get the most out of all wave
conditions.
Zitat Robby Swift:
„The Combat is super strong, versatile and radical. I know I can push the sail as hard as I want and be confident that it won’t let me down in the heat of the moment.“
Featers:
- Forward centered draft location bringing the center of effort close to the rider and increasing backhand control.
- Moderate profile providing a soft rotation and bringing a more neutral feeling.
- Load specific reinforcement ensuring strength in the most critical load areas.
- Shape comparison: Flatter, allowing the sail to depower, and be more neutral when depowered.
Whats new:
- Luff Length: Decreased - lower aspect ratio will bring the power lower down.
- Boom Length: Slightly Increased as above the lower aspect ratio will bring the power lower down.
- Luff Curve: Increased for profile stability and constant power.
- Shape comparison: Flatter, allowing the sail to depower, and be more neutral when depowered.
- ‘Bomb proof’ 100% Dyneema reinforced construction.
- Moderate leech tension for constant power and all-round performance.
- Compact clew for a lower aspect ratio and more maneuverable sail.
- Moderate luff curve for less surface tension.
Rigging Tip:
Too much outhaul will make the sail very neutral, which might be good for side-shore but for onshore, power and upwind performance could be compromised. You can go to as little out-haul where the boom is almost touching the sail when in use.
